KT Cultural Foundation and APEC Education Foundation are co-hosting the 2008 APEC Information Communication Technology (ICT) Poster Competition. |
Under the theme of “ICT for Hope”, the event will illustrate how ICT can better our lives as a tool of development and empowerment, and spread the hope of creating a prosperous digital world through effective and productive utilization of ICT in the APEC region. |
It is expected to provide interested students, teachers and ICT practitioners an opportunity to convey their thoughts about how we can use ICT to better our lives while curtailing the negative side effects that accompany it. |
The competition also highlights the project's educational outreach efforts, encouraging participation from all 21 APEC member economies. |

| Eligibilities |
 |
The competition is open to all citizens of twenty-one APEC member economies |
|
APEC member economies: Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, the United States, and Vietnam |
|
Entrants may work individually or in a group of up to three individuals. All individual members of the group must meet the eligibility requirements. |

Deadline for entries is Monday, May 12, 2008 (Korea Standard Time, GMT + 9) |

| Instructions |
|
All entries must be submitted via online using the application page at the project website at www.apecict.net |
|
The poster must be submitted with a complete application form. |
|
The finished work must measure A1 size, and submitted electronically as a .jpg file with resolution of 300 dpi. The total size of the uploaded jpg file must not exceed 20 MB. |
|
Winners may be requested to provide additional materials such as a high-resolution file of the poster |

Failure to abide by any of the conditions listed above will disqualify the entry. |

Posters that do not contain the documents necessary for application or that do not conform to the specified size will be ineligible for the competition. |

|
Posters must be new, original works. If all or part of the poster, including illustrations or photos, has been previously released, the poster will be eliminated from the judging process. |
| * Posters using the picture of a person must enclose permission for use from the individual. |
|
Posters should reflect the competition theme (Please refer to the previous winners in 2005-2007). |
|
If needed, participants may use written phrases on the poster. Participants are encouraged to use their own languages on the poster. |
|
The English description of the poster (no more than 100 words) as well as the English translation of any phrases appearing on the poster (no more than 200words) should be included in the application. |
|
The poster must include the logos of the two organizers, KT Cultural Foundation and APEC Education Foundation. Logos can be downloaded at project webpage www.apecict.net |

|
Entrants may submit multiple entries but may win only one prize. |
|
| Remarks |
|
The organizing committee reserves the ownership of the winning posters. |
|
By entering the competition, entrants agree that the organizing committee has the right to reproduce, publish, exhibit and promote all posters entered. |
|
Plagiarized materials are ineligible for receiving an award. If plagiarism is confirmed, the organizing committee will cancel the winner’s qualification and the prize money must be returned. |
|
Each entrant is solely responsible for disputes over copyrights, rights of publicity and any other issues regarding the content of the poster, such as ideas, illustrations and photos. |
|
All decisions by the panel of judges are final. |
